January Improv 'Sunday Sampler' #1

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

What a great group turned up for our first Sunday Sampler on January 15.

The 90 minute session was SOLD OUT, and the participants were clearly ready to have some fun and games.

As is often the case, everyone arrived nervous about what they might be asked to do. I swear; it's always folks that are scared but determined to give it a go that have the most fun.

We started out working in pairs, getting used to each other and the nature of directed 'make 'em ups'. Within 10 minutes, people were comfortable; laughing and riffing with each other as they navigated these waters of creative exploration.

After they got to know each other in "3 things you probably don't know about me", we took to the stage to do some fun, improvised podcasts based on our '3 Things'.

By 5pm, it was all over [too soon!]. I ran the class 15 minutes late because they were dying laughing at the last exercise called '3 Person Tableau', where we revisit funny bits that came up during our inaugural Annex Improv 'Sunday Sampler' workshop.

A few Beginner spots are left in the January term on Mondays from 6-10 [Foundations, 8 weeks], and Wednesdays from 8-10pm [One Room Schoolhouse, 4 weeks].
