Chapter 1: Tales from the Old Firehall
The Old Firehall* was The Second City Toronto's original home from 1974 to 1997. During the pandemic lockdown it was announced that the organization was up for sale.
So we started collecting 'Zoom Reunion Recordings' with actors, bartenders and stage managers, creating a Grassroots Community Arts Project.
We made an 'Improv Game' out of telling a story from our time there together in no more than 60 Seconds. Then we animated the voices featuring iconic elements from the theatre, all hand drawn by alumnus Jenny Parsons.
*The Old Firehall is where John Candy, Catherine O'Hara, Mike Myers and others honed their craft on stage; 8 shows a week for a few hundred dollars!
